Rhiannon Arkala
Masters level counseling PRACTITIONER
It is not easy to form genuine connections these days. My passion is working with young adults who are experiencing challenges with work stress, friendships, or life transitions. My clients are most often teens and young adults who are experiencing the challenges unique to their age. As a queer counselor, I also have an affinity towards working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Clients that work with me develop strong coping skills, gain self-acceptance, and are able to grow their social support system.
My approach is client-centered, which means that I focus on you and your world. I also take a systems approach, meaning that I see who you are within the context of the many communities to which you belong. We will work together to hone in on what strengths you already possess and work on areas in which you’d like to grow.
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in English from St. Catherine University in 2018. I began my Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychology at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2020 with a projected graduation year of 2024. When I’m not working or studying, I’m usually reading for pleasure, working on a puzzle, or herding my two Siamese cats.
Rhiannon is located in the Loring Park office and is available for telehealth. She is available to work with individual older adolescents (15+) or adult clients. She is currently under the supervision of Julia Lambert.
