Shelly Lehner

Mental health practitioner

Seeking therapy can be a vulnerable experience. A good fit with a therapist can be difficult to find. Whether you’re here for the first time or returning to therapy after taking a break, Welcome! I’m glad you’re here.

We all have an inherent need to feel seen and heard. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment that feels supportive and productive. Together we will process difficult experiences, explore emotions and behaviors, and untangle what feels tangled.

I welcome Adults and Emerging Adults (ages 16+) from all backgrounds: Deaf Hard-of-Hearing (DHH including interpreters and interveners) and the LGBTQIA+ community.

 Competences:

  • overwhelming life changes and challenges

  • grief and loss

  • relational issues

  • improving self-esteem

  • trauma

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • late-diagnosed and undiagnosed ADHD in women

  • emotional and somatic awareness

About Me:

I was at a private practice in Oakdale before joining Grander Peace Counseling, and I have worked as a nationally certified ASL/English interpreter for over 22 years.

In my free time, I can be found enjoying my favorite local restaurants, trying to keep my plants alive, and quoting movies and TV shows – especially from the 80s & 90s. “60% of the time, it works every time.”

You will find that I am intuitive, straightforward, and approachable and offer a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored to fit your individual needs.

I am available for in-person sessions at our Highland Park and White Bear Lake locations and offer telehealth as needed. Looking forward to meeting with you!

Shelly is working under the supervision of Jessica Van Berkum.
