Dr. Stacy Christensen
Licensed Psychologist
Welcome, I’m glad you’re here. It’s human to struggle, and it’s brave to seek help.
I’m a licensed psychologist providing individual and group therapy services for adults. I specialize in recovering from interpersonal trauma, body image concerns and disordered eating, OCD, chronic pain, and anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, health-related and illness anxiety, specific phobias, and panic. I utilize an integrative approach that empowers clients to internalize the therapeutic process and develop sustainable change. I incorporate Dynamic and Relational approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma focused therapies. I’m knowledgeable in interpersonal neurobiology and take a science-based approach to understanding the development of mental illness and the achievement of mental wellness.
I know that healing is a function of healthy relationships and I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most integral part of the therapeutic process. As a therapist, I’m described as consistently patient and warm. My deep compassion leads me to be as invested as my clients in their therapeutic goals. I take a social justice approach to my practice and understand that the personal is often political. Due to strongly held beliefs, I work to establish a safe and supportive therapeutic place for clients of color and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
When I’m not working, I fill my time reading nonfiction, walking my chihuahua puppy, and trying new vegan recipes.
Stacy is available at our Highland and Loring Park locations.
